Smart manufacturing is another industrial revolution and the realization of it requires the usage of advanced computing technologies, such as intelligent systems, internet of things, big data analytics and etc. This project will mainly use digital modelling, intelligent technologies, and multi-agent systems to propose solutions for smart manufacturing in the steel industry. The deliverables of this project will be (1) a digital model to module the selected procedures of the steel production; (2) intelligent mechanisms to optimize the resource allocation, the cost, productivity, and quality controls; and (3) an agent-based software application to demonstrate the simulation and the optimization outcomes.
