Built on our previous BAJC project, this project aims to scale up the supported nanochannel membrane with high rejection of contaminants for ultrafast water permeation and evaporation for highly efficient wastewater treatment and recycling. The successful scaling up of this new membrane is expected to significantly improve the efficiency of wastewater treatment and recycling, thus reducing the energy and fresh water consumption and environmental impact of the steel industry. The expected outcome of the collaborative research is the technique for scalable fabrication of the nanochannel membrane for energy-efficient wastewater treatment, producing significant economic, environmental and social benefits.
