This project aims to develop a business case for the industrial implementation of flexible roll forming for automotive and truck component manufacture. A first concept of a semi-industrial production facility will be developed in combination with advanced forming approaches and tool solutions that reduce cost and enable high quality and flexible manufacture at high production rates. If successful this project will demonstrate the feasibility of flexible roll forming for the industrial manufacture of complex parts with variable width and height from UHSS and establish guidelines for tool design, production planning and part shape influence required for planning a future industrial flexible roll forming cell.
