As a strategic product, the super ferritic stainless steel (SFSS) is a potential alternative metallic material applied as bipolar plate in hydrogen fuel cell due to its excellent performance and cost effectiveness. The proposed project aims at designing optimised annealing procedures for a series of new-developed ultra-thin SFSS after cold rolling, establishing correlation between the microstructure/mechanical property and formability, and optimising key parameters for single/multi-stage stamping process for typical micro channels of metallic BPs based on practical experiment and numerical simulation. This study will provide the qualified annealing and stamping solutions of the non-coated stainless steel for new energy application.
