Dynamic behaviour of tuyere-raceway region in blast furnaces affects furnace stability and cost considerably. The project aims to work with Baosteel to develop a data-driven transient model for describing real-time dynamic multiphase flows in the raceway and online prediction of tuyere-raceway anomalies e.g. raceway fluctuations, and identify optimal tuyere-raceway operational strategies. This will be achieved by combining data processing techniques, advanced modelling, process analysis, soft sensing and plant tests in a Baosteel BF. The research outcomes including codes, models, operational strategies and Baosteel engineers training will be delivered to at Baosteel for stable and low-cost BF practice.
